Custom "Wi-Fi network" trigger Actions options

2012-11-29, 17:44 PM

When creating a Custom Trigger and selecting "Wi-Fi network" I find the following Actions greyed out:

"Set Wi-Fi"

"Set Airplane mode"

"Set Mobile Data"

Does this mean you cannot select them or are they enabled by default?  IF they are enabled by default, why can't you save the Custom Trigger without selecting an additional Action.

My phone is a Motorola Droid Razr Maxx: Android version 4.0.4: SmartActions version 4.2.2.3.0

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

The only time I've seen an option disabled there is when it's actually disabled on my phone at teh time, usually by another SmartAction. For example, if my Night mode has disabled mobile data, I can't use that as an action.

I think this got fixed with yesterday's update, though.

I am having a similar issue.  I want my Home action to disable Cellular Data.  The trigger I want is to be connected to my home Wi-Fi network.

However, once I've selected that trigger, I am no longer able to select Cellular Data as an action.

I rolled back to the ICS upgrade version of Smart Actions, and it works fine, so something is new/broken in the latest release.

It's xtrange. In prior version of SmartActions I was able to change the Mobile Data On/Off when I connect to my wi-fi. But in current version is not available.

The reason they are grayed if becouse can't change them. For example:

- If I connect to my wi-fi and disable the Wi-Fi capability, I will not be connected anymore to my wi-fi.

- If I connect to my wi-fi and enter Airplane mode, I will be disconnected from wi-fi.

It has no sense with Mobile Data. As I said, I was able to set one once.

Regards...

I also ran into this on my Razr M.

Mobile dat grayed out when triggered by WiFi selection.

Got around it by using location, and this allowed me to turn off mobile data.

It does work if you use location, however there are situations i.e in the garage/backyard where you may not have good wifi signal but are "at the same location".  Definitely needs to be addressed, it was one of the few SA's that I used.  Also just wanted to add that I also rolled back the update to regain this funciton but another interesting problem occured.  The car SA that I had set up (Dock trigger, aciton GPS on, brightness full, ringer 100%) would stay on even after removing from the dock and I had to repetedly force close it until I updated again to the latest version.   The ringer also remains at 100% for me after removing from the dock with the newest version.  Hopefully these few issues can get corrected in the next update.
