SMARTACTIONS™ Compatibility?

2013-08-21, 7:35 AM

while i was in the Verizon store to compare size and feel of my Droid Razr (XT912) to the new Droid Maxx, i noticed that in the Google Play store it doesnt reconize "SmartAction" app by Motorola. Will the Droid family / Moto X get update to be able to use this app? it is one of my Favorite Apps!

I think that Smart Actions had been replaced by Motorola Assist to save battery and automate tasks. Well know more when the phone is out in the wild.

Also,

There are lot of similar "profile manager" applications in the Play store. I am using llama and it works very well for me. But there are simpler ones, and more complex ones. So if you don't like what does come with the new Maxx, you can probably find something that works very similarly to Smart Actions.

i have found Smart Actions is far better than Assist or any other profile app out in the play store. my top 2 functions i use the most. the only app that comes close to Smart Actions is Llama. but the user interface isnt clean or simple to use.

  1. auto turn on Wifi based on location (home & work) through cellular info or gps.

  2. auto turn off cellular data when connected to a wifi access point.

I installed Tasker (paid app) since Moto Assist is merely taking up space on my Droid Maxx.  Frankly, it is not better than Motorola Smart Actions.   Moto needs to migrate Assist with Smart Actions. I installed Llama as well.  Nohing operates like Smart Actions.  Please please bring back Smart Actions!

I have played with Llama and Automatit and have found that in order to do one function in Smart Actions, I need to perform one to two functions in both Llama and Automatit to get the same results..

Pretty sad that Motorola didn't include it in the Moto-X... Pretty said.. Meanwhile their Marketing department said that Assist was everything that you'd need.. Bullcrap..
