Smart Action Guru Needed

2011-11-13, 16:13 PM

Is there more info out there besides the videos? I would like more info on the location and Bluetooth  triggers. I have a hands free Bluetooth device in my car. When I get in it at home I would like it to connect with my razor and when I exit the car to disconnect. All the location triggers need GPS and wifi this defeats the purpose of battery saving. There may be a way. I just need more info on it. Thanks!

Yeah, unfortunately a lot of the features to save battery like turning your wifi off when you leave the house/office etc requires your phone to know where it is in relation to what it is you're trying to connect/disconnect from.  This in turn requires battery resouces to power GPS/Wifi etc.

We do have more on this, but there appears to be some kind of formatting issue with the page where it is provided so I have asked our Web team to take a look. I will post a link when it's fixed.

Please do not PM me - if you have issues, search the forums for threads on your topic and post there, or start a new thread. Thanks!

There are a couple of videos that might be helpful here, if you have not seen them.

Definitely needed ... a simpy PDF or video on the top 5 smart action rules to save battery life .... particularly with respect to the display!

I also wish smart actions could turn on bluetooth in the car... perhaps they could add a trigger for charging from the cigarette outlet?

There are plans to create more Smart Actions specific content in the knowledge base.

As for turning on Bluetooth, the latest version allows docking to be set as a trigger. You could setup a rule that when the phone is docked turn on "Bluetooth." The dock also charges the phone!  If you want to turn on the car's Bluetooth, that's out of the app's capabilty.
