Smart Actions: Lost with 6.12.173 update

2012-02-10, 13:20 PM

I just noticed my SAs were wiped out with the update.  Not a biggie but also not expected.  I do see where they added some SAs and UI changes with the update.

That's odd... I didn't lost the SAs I built before the update.  Not sure why you lost yours.

On a related note:  I'm very happy to see new SA triggers for the car dock and HD dock.  It's so convenient to just mount the phone in the car dock and the phone automatically enables GPS and Bluetooth, adjusts ringer volume and screen brightness to max, and launches Google Maps and My Music.  And the new calendar events trigger will prevent me from forgetting to send out multi-recipient holiday greetings text messages year round... they're now on auto-pilot!   Laughing

Ditto here.  The SA's I was using are still there after the update.   I also like that it hilights "suggested" actions when I open it up.

One thing the update messed up. In Smart Actions, I used to be able to have the screen to never timeout. Now the option is gone. The most I can go now is 10 minutes. Drats. When I'm docked in my car, I like to have the screen to never time out.

You can do this if the phone is plugged in -- do you have power to the dock? (Menu > Settings > Applications > Development > Stay awake)

Please do not PM me - if you have issues, search the forums for threads on your topic and post there, or start a new thread. Thanks!

I like that addition to SA for meetings and events based on calendar.  Now only if you had a NOT feature, so I could set this up for when I am not at a location or not connected to a WiFi.  I would love the slient action while at a customer, but do not care while in my office.

Any way of adding exceptions ?

TNT not sure why your rules got blown away. If anyone else has this type of issue I will bring back to the team to investigate.

imstillalive1 the "Never Timeout" setting was removed due to battery drain concerns.

RandomOne Thanks you for your "NOT" suggestion I will take back to the team for consideration. Currently there is no way of adding exceptions, seperate rules would need to be created to do something similar.

I have a question/suggestion regarding setting a Calendar Event.  I have a calendar event that is set for the 3rd Saturday every month, but the "Calendar Events" looks for everything and a "Timeframe" setting won't allow selection of anything other than every Saturday.  It would be nice to be able to set a keyword(s) in the Calendar Events section.

Steelersfan,

I like the keyword suggestion and have put it on the list. If you have any more suggestions here's a great thread related to that topic. https://forums.motorola.com/posts/3b3ff8fd5f
