BIOS update utility for Linux and TPM-Fail vulnerability

Hi,

Do the latest BIOS update utilities for Linux computers solve the TPM vulnerability : https://thehackernews.com/2019/11/tpm-encryption-keys-hacking.html?m=1

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Extreme carbon ( Type 20MF) running Linux. I was wondering if the BIOS update utility on the support page will address that vulnerability. The bios version states is 1.25.

I know the Intel Management Engine 12.0 update for Windows will solve it, the bios version for that update is 1.24 for the same computer. Just wondering if it can be patched through the linux bios update.
