Dumb question on malware email

2021-09-02, 2:45 AM

Recently I get spam phone calls when I am looking threw my emails on outlook windows 10. Also some attachments that were sent to me from my insurer when I opened them they were things I already had saved on my desktop.  The attachments took the name of a file on my desktop in the insurers' email.

I know what your gonna say that I downloaded them on to my computer.  But this is in the original email. The attachments names changed in the email.

I dont know what to do.  I have scanned my computer 5 times says found nothing  and I am using webroot for internet security.

Any help would be great

Hello yayjay,

To address the previous post, Rootkit Revealer is obsolete. It was developed for Windows XP and was last updated over 5 years ago. TDSSkiller is old as well.

If you want a second opinion I suggest the free version of Malwarebytes. Follow the prompts for updating it and running a scan.

From your description, I am not exactly sure what you are seeing, but after the scan let us know how it goes.
