Lenovo's "User experience" app

2014-11-03, 22:13 PM

Hello,

I got an app named "User experience" that is running in the background of my phone (it was pre-installed when I bought the phone). Under its name it says com.lenovo.ue.service. Can anyone explain to me what does it do? Because it has some interesting permissions like accessing GPS location and reading sensitive log data and it's asking me to allow it root access. It also uses my RAM memory, although very little (like 5MB),  but since I have little free RAM even that would help.. So is it safe to disable it?

Thanks.

It's not malware.  The only way to remove it would be to root.

Good day all,

First, I may be behind the times but I am frustrated with my tablet. I have McAfee LifeSafe installed and the User Experience ALWAYS shows as a threat.  Someone please explain to me what this is, why it shows as a threat, is it a threat, what do I do???  The last person that posted never seemed to get a clear answer!!!  Help

User experience is spy app.

It sends to Lenovo servers:

datetime tag,

OS details,

screen resolution,

IMEI number,

your localization (GPS),

and more...

and drain batery hard (and never shown in energy stats).

Thanks You.

Zenobek.\

Re: Lenovo's "User experience" app

**edited for spelling, etc**

There are 3 Apps which can be disabled for those paranoid people out there. Go to:

Settings / Apps

Select "Manage Apps". Scroll over to the "All" tab. Depending on the device, scroll down the list at look for:

Lenovo ID

Lenovo (**model number displayed**) - i.e. Lenovo tab 2 A10

Market feedback agent

Select one. When the info page appears, click "Force Stop". Click "Disable". Okay any meassages that appear.

Do that for each of the 3 apps.

If they're not showing, then look for an app in the list called "AppHideService". Click that one & then "force stop". Go back a step & they should now show up.

Depending on the device, you may find the apps are called something slightly different or it could be something else you want to disable.

If the option to "Disable"can't be selected then you need to download a Management App that will continually "force stop" it for you at a predetermined frequency.

There is also another method of using a file manager & deleting/modifying folders - but that comes with a lot of risks and it's easy to "brick" your device if you don't know what you're doing.

Hope that helps.
