Running Win 10 on this M72e Ivy PC. Using ESET online scanner it has found a 'varient of some trojan. Using full Panda A/V, it finds nothing. The last two scans of ESET show it found one item, then Windows flashes a blue screen saying it must reboot. Nothing in notifications as to why. I guess I am looking for another free scanner to try to clean this up.

Do you recall exactly what the ESET Online Scanner said it found, and in what file?

If you come across it again, please let us know. It would be interesting to figure out what's going on.

No browser open, I clicked on ES/ET short scanner and it filled the lower task bar. fed up, I hit reboot, orange screen says 64 apps open, they all closed and reboot fine. 2 minutes later, clean reboot. so this is typical of a program screwing up. ideas?

It sounds like the system may have been under an unusual amount of load, but that's not necessarily indicative of malware. Windows Updates can cause that behavior when they are applied, for example, as can file search indexing when Windows is initially installed or upgraded.
I would suggest letting the system run overnight in case there is some kind of system-intensive process that needs to finish, and then check on its behavior the following day to see if system response times are back to normal.
