2019-12-22, 17:12 PM

CVE-2019-14568

A potential security vulnerability in the Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (RST) may allow escalation of privilege.  Intel is releasing software updates to mitigate this potential vulnerability.

Description: Improper permissions in the executable for Intel(R) RST before version 17.7.0.1006 may allow an authenticated user to potentially enable escalation of privilege via local access.

Intel recommends updating Intel® RST to version 17.7.0.1006 or later.

Updates are available for download at this location:

Hello,

You'll find Lenovo's tip relevant to the public vulnerability on the PSIRT site, please review that document.

Re: Security vulnerability in the Intel® Rapid Storage Technology

I've had a note in my calendar to for availability of a fix for the Y900-34ISZ/Y900-RE 34ISZ after the target date, which was January 20th.

I realize these things take time to develop and test.

When might we expect an update to the target fix date in the LEN-29840 notice?

Thank you for your help.
