The list of affected models along with their updates can be found in the following article:
Title: Reading Privileged Memory with a Side Chanel
I don't see the G500 currently listed, but since Lenovo is updating the document every few days, it is a good idea to keep checking it to see when your model gets listed.

Thanks for your reply. I have spent a couple hours going over that page and there is not even a place to list the lenovo laptops only thier Chrome, Ideapads, Thinkpads and Tablets. I hope that they wiil at least put in a blank ssection for the other laptops or let us know that they get to them or just abandon them. Mine is several years old.

Several ThinkStation models just got updated on Monday, so please continue to visit the page every few days to look for an update on your model.

Still no Infos about the G500. My one from 2014 has a third Generation i3 CPU, so basically same ones, like the 230 Thinkpads have. For these, Updates are Coming out end of March, so i guess there are Intel Microcodes in the Pipline for third Generation i3 CPUs.
So i hope Lenovo will also make an updated Firmware for these lower priced Models.

Still no news about the G500 Laptop?
I own 4 Lenovo Laptops, a x220, a x230, a l540 and a G500. The other 3 got a Meltdown/Spectre update, the G500 still not.
Ironically the x220 has even an older i generation cpu than the G500 and the x230 has the same generation.
So i guess it cant be that hard to deliver a bios for the i based G500 Laptops, because the Intel Microcodes for these CPUs are available.
