Dear Lenovo Team,
Haswell (Intel Core i7 4500U) has Intel Microcode Update (Production Status) now.
Do you have any news when our Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro (20266) will receive a new Firmware Update?

It's been a while since this thread has been updated.
Is there any news regarding a yoga2 bios / firmware update from Lenovo?
I see that Microsoft is also supplying a microcode update via http://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=KB4090007
Did others with a yoga2 pro install that microsoft update manually? Or did/will it come automatically via windows update?
Does the http://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=KB4090007 solve the spectre v2 issue for a yoga2 pro and will this be the way it's done going forward, or are others still looking for Lenovo to release a bios update?

I do not see anything listed at https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/len-18282 or https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/len-22133 yet.

Not sure what to make of the absense on that page... I've checked it a few times since January and there doesn't seem to be an update for either of my Yoga models (and the other one was only 3 months old when the intel cpu bug hit... the yoga 2 pro is older, but would like to see some guidance at least from Lenovo on the issue... other than this, the yoga 2 pro is still a nice device.)
So would like some feedback on the Microsoft microcode solution as an alternative (is it an alternative now?) Will Lenovo be deferring to Microsoft's microcode solution now instead of releasing a bios update?

Either the LEN-18282 or LEN-22133 pages at one point did list the Yoga 2 Pro and/or the Yoga 3 Pro. However, they were removed at some point.
(I have a Yoga 3 Pro)
Since they removed it from the list, instead of updating the status, this seems to tell me that they have no intention of doing anything about it.
If anyone at Lenovo is listening and would like to tell us otherwise, very happy to hear so.

No, they were never listed. I checked that page on a daily, now weekly basis. It had never been listed. It's like Lenovo forgot about these. I mean there are some older ThinkPads, but original Yoga-series seems abandoned.

It really is disappointing.
I have a yoga 2 pro that is now several years old, but, still is more powerful than 4 of our other 5 machines and it was relatively trivial to dual boot it with Linux, which is one of the things I love about it.
Linux has the microcode fixes built in to the os if you keep it up to date, but when I go to Windows and run Gibson's InSpectre, it says I'm not completely mitigated.
A new bios update with microcode updates would be welcome.

Yes I would have much preferred if Lenovo had provided a bios update, or short of that, some guidance on when or if one would be forthcoming.
However, I'm not sure that is going to happen with the yoga 2 pro since I can't find it on Lenovo's list.
Could anyone who has manually applied the Microsoft microcode update from the micorosoft catalog comment on how it compares to an OEM bios update in terms of mitigating this spectre v2 issue?
