how to stop hardware and system information from being collected?

2016-07-15, 3:30 AM

we know that some websites would silently collect your hardware and software information, as well as your working environment for their use. It's not personal but I 'd like to know if there are any ways to stop those information being collected

Hello,

I've moved your post to the Security & Malware section for better visibility.  I think you are more likely to get a better answer here than from asking this question in the section for ThinkPad X-series laptops.

Regards,

The answer depends on your computer skills, the OS installed, the method you'd like to inspecte and remove items unwanted.

The simplest way is to use 3rd party tools to remove different agents and monitors, in the win10 especially.

Manually - check out installed applications and task scheduler (in combination with task manager) .

Do it well, worse becomes itself

In addition to your operating system's settings (especially Windows 10), you may find information in this knowledge base article about tracking and privacy.
