PlatformAgent_default_trace AND PlatformAgent_default_message

2018-06-21, 11:08 AM

Hi

I hope this is the correct forum to post to.

I have an x3650 M4. It is a hyper-V host. Installed on it is the Platform Agent. I'm having space issues on the Server. On investigation, the PlatformAgent_default_trace log file is over 20GB and the PlatformAgent_default_message log file  is over 13.5GB.

PS C:\Temp> Get-WmiObject -Class Win32_Product | Select-Object Name,IdentifyingNumber | Where-Object {$_.Name -like'*IBM*'}

Name                                    IdentifyingNumber
----                                    -----------------
ibmsblimgatherer                        {1CD58531-3DA4-434C-A08C-F002ECA6F2C7}
IBM Systems Director Common Agent       {512B0914-4AB1-4AC2-878A-A3F0287481DF}
IBMPlatInst                             {F769D5C5-2D47-4CDE-92C0-E7B1CFA964E2}
IBM Systems Director Platform Agent     {3CB557F7-E890-45CE-AEDB-D5DDC198E3EA}
IBM Director Agent Ext                  {DF4CA07B-7406-4137-BE7A-E1592C25DF42}
ibmcbb                                  {0E62AACB-FD2C-475f-9AAA-6BE11B6C097F}
IBMCIMExtension                         {47E4E04F-051A-407C-B6A1-D1FE240298E9}

I need to shrink these files to a more manageable size. I raised a case with IBM and they advised me to post here.

Is there anyone out there that can tell me the supported method to remove or shrink those two files? The files are locked by one or other of the IBM Services, so I cannot easily delete them.

Many Thanks

regards

John

Hello.

IBM Systems Director is System Management software owned by IBM. so unfortunatelly we have no good answer for your question.

IBM also have similar forum for IBM Systems Director below. Suggest to open question at there...
