Yea via voice command and as long as the hashtag went out with those two words it is good.

Any update, by chance?

 

The device is almost unusable and is now just an expensive picture frame that reboots every few minutes.... Possible to RMA or should I expect a fix soon?

I've tried completely separate wireless network, clear data/cache in the phone app, all to no avail.

I also tried from setting up from an ios device, removing other members from the "Home".

 

I even went to the lengths of picking up a second device and it is also having the same issues.

Hey Miguel/all,

 

I spent the weekend digging into this a bit. I thought I had tried everything but realized I hadn't started with a fresh "home" in the app.

 

I started by creating a new "home" in the Google Home app and added only the Smart Display. To my surprise and excitement, the new Home Status features worked! So with that, I figured that it had to be one of the integrations/apps that I had added to my regular "Home". I readded the Smart Display back to my "Home" and then removed integrations one-by-one (luckily I only have 4). Upon removing the second integration, IOCare (for an Air Purifier), the Home Status began working again and has worked ever since.

 

tldr: I solved it! It was a bad app/integration and upon removing one-by-one to find the culprit, I am back in business.

Very happy to hear this was sorted out. 

 

2 things I would like to ask you for if you can:

 

1. Can you please send feedback to Google on the device, just like before using the same hashtag?

 

2. Any chance of giving us a more detailed description of how you troubleshoot in case this happens to other users in the future?
