Lenovo Watch 9, blinks 4 times; it’s just dead.

2018-10-23, 14:16 PM

It’s 5 days since my watch 9 stopped at all, there’s no movement, no Bluetooth, no connection, nothing. Just the led blinking 4 times.

As I’ve searched, it’s an failure update related to the firmware.

@Lenovo (the company) is not responding properly, They just recommend to reset it, but, how to proceed? Because the watch is not responding at all with the button, just 4 blinks.

For me the solution after I stop it and it do 't want to restart is to change the battery despite the app said it is ok and it was 2 months...

I ended up by throwing it out the window and buy a new one. it turns out that it failed when it vibrated, once it vibrated, it stopped! the alarm just stopped it. anyway. I bought a new one and I'm just waiting and for it to come.

Hi.

Please allow me to start with my standard thoughts about "Lenovo Smart Watchs":

"Sorry to don't be able to provide any help on this area.  On my experience I had found out that there are some device that are branded by Lenovo, thay may or may not be manufacturered by Lenovo, that are available for specific markets. Since this Watch does not has an official support web page on the Lenovo.com site, I'm guessing this may be for some market like China.  So it is very possible that you will not find official/formal support for this devices on the US, Europe and Latin America. I know that it sucks and it is frustrating since we expect to live on a globalized world, but it is out of my knowledge the internal strategy of this kind of devices.

Why are this phones available for sale on your country?  Because it is hard to regulate the "free market" , and according to the country, people/companies may be free to export/import things to some countries without knowing/caring about the manufacturer country support strategy.
"

Now, with that being said:

1) This is the marketing web site of this phone in China. : Google Translated Website.

2)  This is the Motorola China support page and has the following support emailMotorola-china@mailwc.custhelp.com

Let's write Lenovo's Motorola China and request for help there. Please post back any feedback you get from there.

3) Please consolidate all English knowledge of this Smart Watch on this unofficial wiki page until we have something official for the US and rest of the world.

Hi again.

Sorry for this basic and possible dumb answer. I don't have that Smart Watch, I'm just trying to consolidate information about it on this unofficial wiki.

My thoughts for a "trial and error" would be:

1) Disassembly the back lid and remove the battery and reinsert it. Any changes?

2) Try a fresh/new battery. Any changes?

3) Try the reset button on the back of the smart watch. Im not sure for how long,  maybe you need to keep it pressed for 15 seconds. Any changes?

Sorry if it is too basic, but it should be good to at least give it a try.

4) Next: Let's bug Motorola China about it: china@mailwc.custhelp.com

Regards

I have now the new one, and at least, it hasn´t stopped. BUT, the bluetooth doesn´t work at all. No smart function is available, only the watch. at least.

Re: Lenovo Watch 9, blinks 4 times; it’s just dead.

Hello,

A couple of days ago I stumbled upon this problem because the app forced the 0.4.0 firmware update that bricked my watch. Firstly I was only getting 4 flashes of red led on my watch and I couldn't do anything else. I tried hard resetting the watch and changing the battery, nothing helped.
Today, I did a bit of troubleshooting and found a possible solution that worked for me. Bluetooth needs to be disabled on the phone before hard resetting the watch.
Steps:
1. Disable Bluetooth on your phone
2. Take the back cover of your Watch 9 and press the reset button
3. Long press or double press (also try different combinations) crown button on the watch to turn it on, by now your watch should start ticking

4. Launch the Lenovo app and try to connect to the watch, your watch should appear there

5. Reinstall the back cover to the watch

I hope that this can help at least some of you because it caused me too much frustration Smiley Happy
