English Motorola

ChromeOS RSA tool

Is there a way to obain a compatible version of the Rescue and Smart Assistiant tool that will function on a Chromebook? I do not have access to a Windows OS. Ive looked around the site and I haven't even seen anyone ask. Motorola is a subsidiary of Lenovo and both are the manufactures of my devices. I shoud be able to perform Self service on my Motorola phone from my Lonovo chromebook, logically anyway.. I would appreciate any assistiance provided.

Hello, and thanks for reaching out. I completely understand your request. However, at this time, Rescue & Smart Assistant (RSA) is only compatible with Windows PCs. I will make sure our RSA developers see this message, but I can't guarantee that a version compatible with ChromeOS will be developed.

I hope you understand.

Thanks,
Tom

Hello, I just wanted to follow up on this. So the reason it's currently on Windows only is due to the .NET requirement and other architecture mandates for the application. That being said, we are looking at other alternatives in the future (possibly web-based), but I can't promise anything nor can I give any timelines on when these other alternatives will be an option.

Thanks,
Tom

I do appreciate the feedback, even without a solution. I'm afraid I will not be using this device much long due to safety concerns. No update in sight and outdated security patches does not inspire confidence. Also, got a notification today that my carrier is now selling this device (Moto G Stylus 5G 2022) for only $10.. I paid more than 30 times that! Talked with my carrier about the issues I've been having and it was relayed that all Motorola phones, not just mine, are experiencing these issues. My carrier strongly suggests I seek a difference device from a different manufacturer. I've always supported Lenovo/Motorola but a definitive difference in quality is noticed.

I'm sorry to hear that you're looking to get rid of the phone. I understand we're currently behind on the security patch. I know we're currently working to get a new security update pushed out as quickly as possible. You mentioned that you were having issues. Was there something else other than the security updates? Please let me know. I'll do whatever I can to help with any other issues you're facing.

Thanks,
Tom

Another issue I am having is signal fading in and out. I have other devices on with the same carrier, no issues from them. I've been told that it is due to a bug in the current software and that the fix would be an update.. again, another stand off. (sorry for the delayed response. Have to travel a lot for work)

No worries about the delay. I fully understand being busy with work. As for the signal fading in and out, is the signal being completely dropped or do you see the signal strength fluctuate more often than on other phones? Can you share what other models you aren't seeing this on? It's possible that our phones just update the signal strength indicator more often than other models.

Let me know and safe travels when you're out working.
