S305 will not connect to computer

2009-08-15, 3:31 AM

I have widcomm drivers on a windows XP sp3 PC.

In My Bluetooth places the S305 shows up and says its paired.

But the headset indicates by the 4 green flashes it is not paired.

Does anyone know what's going on?

I have experienced something similar with my PC and my S9 stereo headset. In my case, the PC sees the headset, but does not support the A2DP stereo profile so it never actually pairs. I am also running XP and sp3, though it's possible the Bluetooth drivers in your PC are different from mine. Could you post a question in your PC manufacturer's forum to see if it supports A2DP?

Thanks for the suggestion.

This was solved by using BlueSoleil drivers.

They installed quickly and were easy to set up.

Thanks, Ron. Could you give a little more information on these drivers? I've never heard of them and some other owners might find this useful information. Even a link to where you go them would be good, but how you loaded them would help, too.

I don't know too much about them except what's on their website and they were very easy to install.

Here's the link: http://www.bluesoleil.com/

Their install guide is here: http://www.bluesoleil.com/support/index.asp?topic=quickguides6x

They have worked very well for me.

I have the very same problem with the S305.  It connects just fine to my Blackberry Bold, but not my Lenovo T61 laptop (x64) running Windows 7 RC1. My laptop's Bluetooth adapter is on, but the S305 is not discoverable. Could this be a Win7 issue, or does anyone have an idea?  Thanks. (Newbie)

@Ron: how much did you pay for the bluesoleil drivers?

I too have been running into problems and saw your solution but was taken back at the cost for the bluesoleil driver!!!  It was listed @ $19 euros and i was hoping to get this to work without coming further out of pocket.

Let me share what i've done thus far:  i'm using a DLink BT usb toggle and tried using the DLink driver... doesn't work.  It'll "pair" but won't truly connect, meaning i don't hear nothing through the headset.  I tried other BT (free) drivers listed on www(dot)download(dot)com but nothing came close to working like the bluesoleil drivers.

I'm now hoping to see if the price listed by them is fair...otherwise imma have to return the POS headset and try another brand.

Hi,

Unfortunately that is what I paid. There is a conversion button to U.S. dollars.

I you do locate another solution please post as I would be interested.

I have a Dell XPS m13 with bluetooth: Dell Truemobile 355 Bluetooth + EDR

You can connect your S305 by install a bluetooth driver that supports A2DP interface.

Last night, I came across this website, tried what they proposed and it worked =). Previously my bluetooth didnt supported A2DP interface. I downloaded a driver from the following link:

http://a2dp.info/Articles/Articles/BlueSoleil-How-To.html

It will ask you to register before you can download it. After downloading it, I rediscovered my headset and this time it worked.

Even though it worked, I do feel that the sound quality is not that good. I am planning to buy a bluetooth dongle for better sound quality.
