(0X10) IMM STATUS: IMM KERNEL LOADING

I have an IBM X3550 M4 server, after restarting this does not start. The monitor shows the error: (0X10) IMM STATUS: IMM KERNEL LOADING.

 

We have waited hours but it stays in that state. We connect a keyboard to enter the bios but it does not recognize it.

 

Please support your urgent help.

There should be something wrong in your system.

1. Please clear the CMOS http://systemx.lenovofiles.com/help/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.lenovo.sysx.5460.doc%2Fc_switches_jumpers.html

2. Please use the minimum configuration to boot the system (1 CPU and 1 DIMM). If still not workable, then try to switch the CPU and DIMM

3. Once the system is back, please use the BOMC https://www.ibm.com/support/home/docdisplay?lndocid=TOOL-BOMC to update the system firmware.

 

If above actions are not workable, then you need to call support to execute the parts replacement.

Hello Erin, have you attempted to complete the previous action plan that was supplied? 

 

Please try the following:

  1. Disconnect the power from the server.
  2. Please clear the CMOS http://systemx.lenovofiles.com/help/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.lenovo.sysx.5460.doc%2Fc_switches_jumpers...
  3. Please use the minimum configuration to boot the system (1 CPU and 1 DIMM). If still not workable, then try to switch the CPU and DIMM
  4. Perform a flash of the IMM firmware using BoMC  https://datacentersupport.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/lnvo-bomc

I'm having same problem and clearing CMOS didn't affect anything. Still can't pass post and sees all the time kernel loading error. Any other solution?

We had the same error. But in our case, clearing CMOS solved the problem.

I am also curious if the original poster is still having this issue as i'm having the same problem. For me, I tried the steps mentioned above but after clearing the CMOS it hangs at the same place. For me the server's fans started to run at a high speed out of the blue (The equipment is cooled properly) but IMM wouldn't connect so I rebooted the server to check the settings in the BIOs and the issue started.
