How to restore IMM2 backup firmware?

2017-05-05, 15:07 PM

Hi everyone,

i tried to update my IMM2 x3650 M4 from v1.00 to v3.75. Update did run successfully with the imm2_tcoo26o-3.75 via the web interface but after a reboot of the IMM the interface is extremely slow, doesnt work in firefox any more, only IE and the remote control doesnt work at all.

I would like to restore the backup firmware 1.0, but how does it work? I found a lot of guides how to restore the uefi firmware but not for the IMM2.

Hope you can help me.

Hi DaSouli

Try following:

- save a backup if your IMM Settings by e.g. ASU

- load IMM factory Settings (F1 -> IMM Settings -> reset to default Settings)

Please be aware of this link too. (no further support of java Plugin)

Re: How to restore IMM2 backup firmware?

Hello,

Before restore previous version, at first suggest to clear browser and Java cache. If previous version's cache are existed, sometimes IMM2 GUI interface are not work well.

And as systemx-1 wrote, if your firefox is newer than version 52.0 Java plugin is no longer supported. If you would like to use Java remote control with firefox 52.0 or newer, use IMM2 3.50 (tcoo24A) or newer version which remove Java plugin check function.

When you downgrade to previous IMM2 firmware (if you have previous IMM2 package), try to following procedure.

1) Backup IMM2 configuration.

2) If you updated uEFI firmware and it require pre-updated IMM2 version, downgrade uEFI firmware at first before downgrade IMM2 firmware.

3) Login IMM2 and open [Server Management] => [Server firmware]

4) Click [Update firmware] and follow the wizard. *Firmware update via IMM2 GUI is use for maintenance purpose only.

5) After completed, restart IMM2.

Upgrading firmware might convert some configuration. If something issue happen after the downgrade (like login fail etc), once take restore default action from uEFI F1 setup menu.

Thank you.

Thanks a lot. Clear the cache did solve my problems. And Java is not necessary for me, but it works again now. The browser HTML5 viewer works fine too!

So i do not have to downgrade to an older firmware version. Next will be the uEFI. ^^
