Lenovo hard drive compatibility with old IBM System x3500 M3 7380 server

2019-08-27, 4:11 AM

We recently acquired a new disk to replace a damaged one; however, after making the change, 3 days have passed and the team kept the fix degraded and the server alerted. The fru of the disk is 42D0633; it is the same fru of the previous disk the difference is that this is Lenovo and the previous IBM; we run a DSA and the disk is seen by the LSI controller but it was not integrated into the RAID 1 array.

Hi Sir,

According to the IBM System x3500 M3 Product Guidethe disk 42D0633 is not on internal disk drive option list.

The screenshot you provided that the disk state is degraded. When you install the hard disk, please refer to the MegaRAID Storage user guide section 4.15.3 Rebuilding a Physical Drive to rebuild a physical drive first.
