ServeRaid M5210 - copyback job is slow (performance)

2017-07-03, 7:12 AM

Hello!

We are testing our new X3650M4 with a M5210 Raid-Controller and 10TB HDD (RAID10 and HotSpare-HDD).

We are testing a simulation of a non working drive. The rebuild on an HotSpare-HDD was fast, it was done in like a day.

But now the copyback-job to the replaced drive is very slow (14 days):

/opt/lsi/storcli/storcli /c1 /eall /sall show copyback
Controller = 1
Status = Success
Description = Show Drive Copyback Status Succeeded.

-----------------------------------------------------------------
Drive-ID Progress% Status Estimated Time Left
-----------------------------------------------------------------
...
/c1/e22/s7  17        In progress     14 Days 11 Hours 5 Minutes
...

The server is not much in use:

Any ideas why the copyback-job is slow?

Thanks and regards

Luke

Now it's "allready" done. The duration of the job was about 4 days.

----------------------------------------------------------
Drive-ID Progress% Status Estimated Time Left
----------------------------------------------------------
...
/c1/e22/s7  -         Not in progress -
...
