x3400 7976 boot up problems

2020-10-15, 20:17 PM

i had problems with letting my server boot up by changing some jumpers that are close to CMOS battery but it was not display on any monitor  but the server was working fine, the problem now got more complicated, i kept changing jumpers until the jumpers broke with me, now it doesn't boot, but when i try to let it work by screw with metal screw, the fans starts to spin for few seconds then stops...

any help guys?

Hi cezar1

If you can undo what you have done, it is recommended that you do it first.

Then you can refer to the following link for 7976 System-board switches and jumpers

Hope this helps.

thank you, i now which things i should touch to make it work with screw same way with normal computers but it doesn't work, the fans spins few seconds then stops, i dont need Pro way to fix it, i just want it to work somehow, the motherboard is not damaged as i can tell and it is old server i wouldn't pay much money to any company to fix it as you know fixing servers and parts are expensive, it would cost like new server

Hi cezar1

Or can you see any indicator LED flash or light up? More detailed description may be needed to help us diagnose the problem.
