IHAC that wants to upgrade their v1 CPUs on a x3550 m4 to v2. Other manufacturers, like HPE, require a certain firmware upgrade and then upgrade the BIOS to the latest pertaining to v2. Also they require a memory upgrade.
In the Installation and Service Guide, I found out that there are these two motherboards designated for v1 and v2.
So the question is what is the process and requirements for Lenovo pertaining to the system upgrade from 1st gen E5-2600 to v2?
The system is CTO 7914WYP

Hi @KelvinH, apologies for tagging you, but I saw that you provided a response to a similar request on a x3650 m4. Is it the case that the motherboard needs replacement?

Not sure if you are asking for X3550 M4 system board part number.
But it's all on IBM info center website: https://systemx.lenovofiles.com/help/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.lenovo.sysx.7914.doc%2Fc_parts_listing.h...
Share with you.

Thanks for sharing the detials.
Yes I am looking for mother board part number for the devices which i shared in my last post.
In your list there are three types of motherboard, but for my devices which one is compatible.

From your post, your machine type is 7914, model is FT1. However there is no FT1 model in the table.
Therefore, I searched for the "E5-2690 8C" in the xREF documentation (https://lenovopress.com/redpxref.pdf) and found a match for 7914-M2x with the same processors option. Then I think 01GR491 / 01GR492 can be used for 7914-FT1.
