Re: Re-enable ThinkVantage Button After Clean Install

Hi,

I recently did a clean install of Windows 8.1 Pro on my T530, and I lost the functionality of the ThinkVantage/Device Experience button (or whatever you want to call it). I did install the hotkey driver but that did not seem to make a difference. I know that this button should still work since I had it working on the factory install of Windows 8.

Does anyone know how to get this button working again?

Thanks!

Re: Re-enable ThinkVantage Button After Clean Install

Where did you get the 8.1 iso for a clean install?  You must know magic.

To fix your TVB, just run the Keyboard Customizer Utility

Got the ISO from MS Dreamspark.

Sorry but I'm not seeing keyboard customizer anywhere on the linked page. The only customizer I was able to find on Lenovo's site was the utility for Win 2000/XP. Am I missing something here?

Re: Re-enable ThinkVantage Button After Clean Install

There are several other utilities you may need to install for this to work (eg the OSD and the power manager).  The black thinkvantage button on my T430 (factory Win 7 Pro install) does very little and doesn't function like the previous (t4x/T6x) blue button.  I guess the color matters!
