Feedback: What additional features would you like to see next...

We would like to improve Task Manager and add new features. What would you like to see in the next version of Task Manager.

I definitely like having a built in app such as this. I think it is a great step in the right direction for those who want to know exactly what is going on with their phones.

That being said, I think that it's functionality could be greatly extended beyond simple task management. I'm thinking more along the lines of SystemPanel, which provides not only CPU and RAM usage statistics, but consolidates battery and physical memory stats into one app as well. It also provides incredibly useful charts detailing how apps have been using resources over time.

If we can get that kind of functionality out of a bundled app, I would be incredibly impressed and Motorola would gain quite a bit of rep in my book.

Definitely like the feature set so far.  The auto-end feature is really nice - gotta do more to get the word out about how it works, though, b/c by the name you'd think it was a "always kill" or "never let this run" kind of list.

I would have 2 requests:  (1) is a widget for the TM (adjustable size would be nice) - maybe showing current CPU and RAM usage levels, and possibly a "kill all non-system apps" kind of button on the widget.  (2) would be a historical usage readout for installed apps - right now the only way to identify memory/processor hogs is to see them when they are running.  If there was a way to long-press or something and choose a "details" option that displayed average RAM and CPU consumption by that program (either compiled by the phone over time, or linked to a database?  maybe a "battery-friendly" 3-4-star rating?), that would help users choose programs to (a) add to the auto-end list, or (b) uninstall if they don't like the usage #'s...

Also have a feature request for the Battery Manager - hope this is a good place to put it in.  Could the current battery status (percent charge & charging/discharging indication) be added to the graphical readout on the Battery Manager?  Even as text in a bar at the top would be fine.  It's a little annoying to have to go to Settings -> About Phone -> Status to get the battery info and then back out and go to Settings -> Battery Manager -> Battery Use to get the analysis.  Combining those 2 (or leaving as-is for "about" and duplicating the readout in the usage graphs) would be very handy.

Thanks!

How about a feature to autokill certain apps as soon as they run (or if not always scanning - how about  checking at some reasonable interval not to kill battery)- for things that we just never want to run at all?

Definitely agree with widget requests. Also, an option to hide the non-running apps.

Can you tell me if this app is available to download seperately from MotoBlur and will it run on other Android mobile phones? I really like the app and it works great on my Atrix but my wife has an HTC Inspire and HTC does not come pre-loaded with a siliar application. I have looked at other apps in the Android market but I like the simplicity of your application. And it just seems to work well.

Thanks,

Pete

I didn't even know this forum existed

I have a feature request:

I'd like a "don't pester me" list (also know as an exclusion or safe list) so I don't get reminders that Facebook and Google Voice are still running (for example)...

You learn something new every day

I only had this happen to me once with google voice. How often does that happen to you with gmail?

I get 3-4 messages about Facebook and Google Voice each day...

It's "pesterful" but not annoying. I use GVoice for my voicemail so I need to make sure it stays running.

Ditto. It's especially annoying when it comes up over the app in question.
