I have one and use it for scientific data analysis and visualisation and it works fantastic! SPSS software  is horribly slow on most laptops and it’s crazy fast on this. Definitely recommend. Good luck!

Re:About Lenovo Thinkbook g16 ryzen 7530u

Hello. I have got this laptop just for the same purpose. Some coding (Python/C++) and some data processing and math calculation on huge DB in multithreading tasks. There is no problem with this CPU in these usage cases. The CPU is really fast and its power is enough to coding, debugging, and data processing.

But this laptop has poor cooling system. As you know Ryzen 7530u has 15W TDP so we can expect that there will be rather cold and silent laptop. But it is not so. The CPU fan is almost always on. It is disabled only when CPU temperature is about 39°C. But it is very rare because when I am browsing or coding the CPU temperature never goes below 42 - 45°С.

So if you prefer to make your code in silence it is not your case. With this laptop you will always hear annoying fan noise. And it is especially frustrating because this laptop could be as silent as you smartphone if temperature curve was carefully calibrated by Lenovo engineers. At present this curve is hardcoded in laptop controller and it is not available for user to adjust it.

If I use Lenovo vantage software to reduce the fan noise.. will it work ?

Re:About Lenovo Thinkbook g16 ryzen 7530u

There are 3 modes in vantage: maximum performance, intelligent cooling and battery saving. In my everyday usage intelligent cooling is set. So my previous post was about this mode. When it is necessary to run some heavy calculation I switch on the maximum performance. When using battery saving the fan behavior is a little better. But in compare with my old Thinkpad T520 with its old Sandy Bridge on board this Thinkbook will lose anyway if we are speaking about fan noise. It is strange because Sandy Bridge T2520m has 35W TDP that is more than twice greater than 15W of this Ryzen.
