E-Ink installation issue?

2021-10-11, 6:01 AM

Good morning all,

since day one I'm receiving an error on the E-Ink as shown. Even after installing WIN 11 succesfully the error still persists. I can't download the corrupt installation package again.

What can I do to resolve this issue?

Kind regards

Wolfgang

Hello brekki_siegen!

Welcome to community forums!

Does this issue happen on Windows 10 as well?

It would help us understand better if you can provide a screenshot with the English version?

And also, kindly provide the machine type model / MTM (ex. 81C70000RK or 20UD000BUS) from the sticker usually under the case?

This would help us detail more about your machine variant while keeping the confidentiality of your serial number.

Try manually installing this updated version: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkbook-series/thinkbook-plus-g2-itg/20wh/downloads/driver-list/component?name=Software%20and%20Utilities

Let us know how it goes.

Good morning Jwes,

downloaded and installed the package. Now it shows version v.1.0.1.38, but the error is still the same. Update package is corrupt and it can't be downloaded again. And, by the way, integration for WIN11 is ... bad :)

Kind regards

Wolfgang

When you installed it, did you use the Windows 10 OS since the E-Link application disappears when you filter the OS to Windows 11?

Hi Jwes,

like already mentioned above I have downloaded and installed a new version. Following the link you provided you'll automatically land on the WIN10 64 bit page. The package name downloaded and installed is "thinkbook_plus_gen2_eink_setup_1.0.1.38". This is why the version changed from 1.0.1.36 to 1.0.1.38 (also mentioned above).

I guess the new version is not fixing the issue. Any more suggestions?

Kind regards

Wolfgang

Another option would be installing the OEM image here: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht103653-lenovo-digital-download-recovery-service-ddrs-download-the-files-needed-to-create-a-lenovo-usb-recovery-key

Back up your files before proceeding.

Hi Jwes,

you are kidding me, right? I have a fresh installed and upgraded Windows system and you are telling me to make an OS recovery because a Lenovo software is causing errors?

How about finding out at what point and under what circumstances this LENOVO software is raising this error. Just because you don't have a clue telling me to reinstall the system is not helpful.

If you don't have an answer please hand this over to the next level of support.
