My m52 8212 thinkcentre's came with only 1GB of RAM with Windows XP. They have available slots for 4GB of RAM. I have updated them to Windows 7 and tried to upgrade them the 4GB of RAM. Only 16 of the 20 computers accepted the additional 3GB of RAM. When I added the fourth GB the monitors would not turn on. After taking it out of the computers , they worked. How can I get them to take 4GBs?

What memory did you use? Brand and part number. What is the version and date of the BIOS (run 'system information', half way down the first page), are they all at the same?

BIOS can govern memory size support. Click start, in the entry field, enter 'system information', half way down the first page is the BIOS info. I need version and date of two that work, and all that don't.

Is it 16 systems that work with 4GB, and 4 that don't? Or the other way around.
Can you give me that for 2 systems that work, and for all those that don't. Thx.
