Blu-ray help needed

So I've never had a Blu Ray player of any kind, and I bought an OEM LG WH14NS40 for my ThinkCentre M82 (running Windows 10 Pro). I can go into Windows Explorer and see the drive fine, but it won't play with Media Player or VLC. Do I need to do something with the computer or do I just need some other program?

Thank you,

Re: Blu-ray help needed

What are you trying to play?  CD audio?  DVD movies?  BluRay movies?

BluRay movies cannot be played by ordinary media player software, because of encryption and copy-protection.  Requires commercial software that has paid the licensing fees to support playback.  Products such as CyberLink PowerDVD can be used.  Also DVDFab5. You can also buy a product like AnyDVD HD which handles the removal of the encryption so that you can play the main titles using more conventional media player software.
