Hello. I'm receiving a Microsoft Visual C++ Debug Library: Debug Assertion Failed! error message whenever I open an application (the application is an EEG monitoring Patient Database). The application will open, but as soon as I move my cursor, the above error message pops up. Selecting Abort or Retry causes the application to close. If I click Retry several times, the error message disappears, but shows up again after moving the cursor around. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I know my way around a computer to a certain extent, and this is obviously beyond me.
I am using a ThinkCentre M52 8113-F1U with Windows XP service pack 2.

Thanks for your consideration.

I googled "Debug Assertion Failed" and got a tip that may help you. Try running a program to remove ad or other malware (like Spybot Search & Destroy) as suggested by the second poster on the following page:
If the link does not work:
2. type 'debug assertion failed' in the search box
3. and the thread started by 'sandielynne' has the suggested fix.
