Does the M720Q Desktop fit in the slot behind the monitor TIO3-24?

2020-02-10, 9:46 AM

I would like to know if the M720Q can fit in the slot behind the Lenovo TIO3 24inch monitor? I know that the M720 is listed as being compatible for this monitor but they didn't list M720Q. It seems that the M720Q is thinner than the M720 so am unsure how the slots behind the monitor are designed and whether they can be changed to fit a smaller desktop?

Yes.  The M720q is the 'Tiny' member of the M720 family, and the only one that will fit in the Tiny-In-One (TIO).

Thanks, but just to clarify before I buy them both, when you said "only one" I was a bit confused because the monitor lists a variety of models, as listed below:

Compatible Tiny:
Tiny-in-One, offers a full All-In-One experience when optional Tiny slots into
the back of TIO, clean cabling and effortless setup
P330 / P320 / M920(x) / M720 / M910(x) / M710 / M900(x) / M700 / M630e /
M625 / M600 / M75q / M715 / M93/p* / M83 / M73* / M53 /Chromebox Tiny
* Non-TIO models can't be turned on by pressing power button of TIO

But (q) is not stated next to M720. Do you know if this desktop M720Q will fit behind this TIO 24inch Gen 3 and work without any compatibility issues?

You are taking my "only one" out of context, because I also wrote, in the same sentence, "of the M720 family".  (The other members being M720s (SFF), and M720t (Tower))

I prefer not to read inbetween the lines, so again to clarify, you are saying there are three members of the M720

1) TINY

2) SFF

3) TOWER

and all models of 1) Tiny should fit behind these monitors and not the other two members?

That wasn't clear from the brochure as it stated M720 was compatible, so I thought and so did the salesman, that the M720 SFF was suitable and not the M720q, am glad I chat with sales on the Lenovo website and clarified that M720 SFF does not fit behind any monitor, but I didn't know there was a third member called Tower. Anyway, am summarising this for other readers who also find the brochures unclear and not well written.
