Graphics Card won't fit - M92p Tower

2016-08-07, 19:52 PM

Hello guys

So I have a Lenovo ThinkCentre  M92p Tower (machine type 2992).  I recently obtained a MSI R7 250 2GD3 OC and am currently trying to install it. I followed the manual and removed the proper back plates and opened the living mechanism. However  when i try to fit the card in it is just a couple millimeters off and it won't slide down.

Am i doing something wrong or is my card incompatible with my case?

Thank you

There's a spring like system along the PCI slot rear framework.    You need to push toward the rear, and down.   Work the far end (away from framework) in first, it can help lever the rest of the card in.

Alright, but the teeth on the card won't exactly line up on the thingy. I've tried exerting more force but I feel I may damage the motherboard or the teeth themselves since they are sort of grinding against the slot. And by rear, I'm guessing you mean the rear of the case?

Yes, the rear of the case.   It will be a tight fit, but will fit, it's a long established standard.   Check out some videos of it being done on Youtube.

No worries.   Let us know how you like that R7 250.
