Re: Legacy BIOS

Catie,

The main reason for my request is that when I updated the BIOS to the latest version (1.58.0.0) using System Update, the update history shows the update status as "Did Not Install" even though it may have successfully installed.  I wanted to reinstall the old BIOS just to make sure all was OK.

What I really need the BIOS version that came immediately before 9SKT58A.  I assumed it was 9SKT57A, but based on the history in the link you provided it looks like it is 9SKT42A.  Can you provide a link to that one?

Also, the following history comes from the readme file for 9SKT58A.  It's different from the one in the link you provided.

CHANGES for 9SKT58A/9SJT58A - Adds support for updating BIOS from a WIN7 BIOS to a WIN8 BIOS.

CHANGES for 9SKT57A/9SJT57A - Support EDU 8.0 software - Support Sophos software - Fixes issues that some USB scanners hang at POST LOGO screen

CHANGES for 9SKT56A/9SJT56A - Fixes the issue that PS/2 keyboard doesn't work after updating SuperIO firmware.

CHANGES for 9SKT55A/9SJT55A - Adds support for some new CPUs.

CHANGES for 9SKT54A/9SJT54A - Fixes the issue that sometimes after flashing BIOS and then restart the system, system will automatically shutdown.

CHANGES for 9SKT53A/9SJT53A - Fixes the issue of incorrect SATA ports information in SETUP. - Fixes the issue that sometimes Logo is not LENOVO logo but windows logo when entering Windows Recovery mode.

CHANGES for 9SKT52A/9SJT52A - Updates microcode for IvyBridge CPU. - Fixes the issue that POST logo can't be shown on full screeen for some monitors.

CHANGES for 9SKT51A/9SJT51A - Fixes the issue of installing Redhat 6.3. - Fixes the issue that sometimes the display cannot be full screen in text mode.

CHANGES for 9SKT50A/9SJT50A - Adds Intel Rapid Storage Technology utility support UI in SETUP when CSM is disabled.

Re: Legacy BIOS

I definitely understand your concern, you can find the link for 9sjy42usa.exe on the very bottom of this link:

http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS029265

I am still contacting some people to see about 9SKT57A/9SJT57A BIOS update, as I too see it in the readme file. I will let you know if I hear anything back.

Thank you for being a part of the Lenovo Family,

Catie

Re: Legacy BIOS

Catie,

I downloaded and installed 9sjy42usa, then I went to System Update and reinstalled 9sjy58usa, which appeared to install normally with a normal restart.  Solution Center shows the updated BIOS so I guess all is well.

System Update still shows the update "Did Not Install" but this must be an artifact of the previous update.
