Lenovo M910x Tiny Extreme: RX 460 graphics option, details and avail.

Is the M910x Tiny Extreme available for purchase? I found this data sheet that says it offers the option of an RX460 4MB occupying the hard drive space, with a larger 135W power supply to support that.

That sounds great, but I can't find one for sale. They do list the M910x on some European stored, but not with the RX460 installed.

Is it available as part + power supply to install in a regular M910q?

Re: Lenovo M910 Tiny: Max HDD height?

This Norwegian store lists a M910x with RX460 installed as 'no longer in database'. Is the product not sold anymore, or maybe never released?

Re: Lenovo M910 Tiny: Max HDD height?

Found an M910x for sale in the Netherlands for € 1.543,70 (US$1,754.34) with i7700, 16GB RAM, 512GB NVMe. The pricing is likely inclusive of the 21% local sales tax, so that is US$1,450, so it looks like the RX460 and larger power supply is adding roughly US$150 to the list price. That is about right, as RX460's cards go for $100-$150.

The RX460 discrete video card goes in the hard drive space, and the punch out plates panel for the optional serial or integrated video ports is replaced with a panel with four mini-DisplayPort sockets. So you should be able to drive six 4K monitors and play some (mid-settings) 1080p video games on the M910x. That's ingenious! But not sold in the US?

Re: Lenovo M910 Tiny: Max HDD height?

The latest (June 2017) PSREF does include specifications for M910x Tiny models with RX 460 graphics.   I suggest you contact your local Lenovo sales office to see when these models will be avail.  Thx.

Re: Lenovo M910 Tiny: Max HDD height?

It would be nice if Lenovo would sell the M910x Tiny on their US website. They never sold the M900x Tiny on their US website either. Smiley Sad

Re: Lenovo M910 Tiny: Max HDD height?

Thanks @BiggAl I did just that and the US sales rep told me the M910x was marked as discontinued. At least in the US and possibly other places too, the Norwegian site suggested it was discontinued there too. So the only way to get one is to find remaining stock, such as the Netherlands site.

That is pretty weird for a US model anounced in April and released in June to be discontinued in July! Pity, as such models would be extremely popular and AFAIK unequaled in the market.

As you say, all the US part numbers are in PSREF for several configurations the M910x with RX460 (e.g. 10N0001DUS)and it also isn't listed as being a withdrawn product on the PSREF site. Weird.

Re: Lenovo M910 Tiny: Max HDD height?

I think the issue is that they are probably reseller only items. I see them listed for sale in the US by B&H and CDW. As I mentioned in my previous post Lenovo also never sold the M900x on their website either, so no discounts, modifications, etc, but it was sold through resellers. Smiley Sad

Re: Lenovo M910 Tiny: Max HDD height?

I agree @calc. Maybe they only sell the 'x' models in the countries with the fastest connection speeds, this top 10 covers all the countries I found the m910x for sale. :-)

Re: Lenovo M910 Tiny: Max HDD height?

Well spotted @calc! I didn't Google up any US sales. The B&H model is listed as coming soon, isn't configured with the RX460, and makes no mention of the option in the description. I couldn't find an 'm910x' on CDW?

Re: Lenovo M910 Tiny: Max HDD height?

CDW appears to have eight of them, but there may be more on the site.
