Hey everyone. I own a m715q mini with the 9700e CPU. I was wondering since this has the am4 socket if it is possible to upgrade it to the new ryzen Apu's. Has anyone done this yet? It would greatly enhance the preformance of the compute and graphics aspect of the computer. Things I am worried about is that bios wise that the newer CPUs won't be supported dispite it being the same socket. If anyone has any information I would love to hear it.

Just purchased a RYZEN 2400GE 35W
but my M715Q didnt recongize it
cpu fan speed runs in max rpm after power on
no any screen output
my M715Q manufacturing date was 2018
BIOS is the lastest M11KT45A
original CPU is A10 PRO 9700E
still looking for a solution
Lenovo is selling new M715Q unit comes with RYZEN 5 PRO 2400GE now
so I thought the CPU upgrade is possible
but now I don't know what to do with my 2400GE...

It is only meaningful to put the 2400GE on these 1L tiny machine
Otherwise just get a 2400G and throw to any itx case is ok...
Any suggestion? LOL
Wanna cry now
And the 2400GE is really a hard-to-find item too
It shipped from UK to HK...

I dont think Lenovo will release the BIOS update for 1st gen m715q
Purchasing the 2nd gen mainboard and replace by myself would be an option. Although it is not cheap too. Roughly half price (mainboard only) comparing to the lowest config of a complete 2nd gen m715q.
