My client left it on for five days while on holiday & came back to a dead machine. The screen remains blank & it repeats 4 short beeps upon start-up, nothing else.
It is a newly system installed system running XP & upgraded to SP3. No BIOS upgrades were initiated. Purchased from ebuyer.com about 1 month ago but I notice it is no longer being stocked. Is there anything I can do other than send it back under the warranty? I assume the integrated video chip has failed. Am I right?
I am disappointed with Lenovo, especially as I was a big fan of Thinkpad T21s. When so much time goes into installing any new machine with protective utilities, a rudimentary failure so shortly after set-up makes my purchase recommendation look foolish.
Any possibility of human error?
