M58P - CPU Fan Not Spinning When Warming With Q9650

Hi all,

For my M58P, I upgraded from E8400 to Q9650 and I check the temperature of the CPU. I do everything well : thermal paste, not to much, just enough.

I upgrade BIOS to the last version 5CJZ77USA.

In idle, around 50C, in stress with CPUID it's 84C. I used CPUID HWMonitor. I try RealTemp too.

I don't understand why the fan didn't spinning to cooling the CPU. It still the same speed at 84C. I try another fan to check and the same think happened.

Can anyone already encountered similar problem ?

Re: M58P - CPU Fan Not Spinning When Warming With Q9650

Ok I got it, after hours and hours I found that the problem is the thermal cable. It is place on front of the case and the fan pull the air in the front. So the cable termal never detect the CPU Temperature. I just unmount the thermal cable from the front case and put it behind the cooler so that cable can now get the CPU temperature and the fan spin correctly. My CPU has now just the good temperature. It's still keeping 57C at full load.
