M710q Display Problems

2019-10-10, 16:04 PM

We have a user who is having trouble with their display. Several times a day the displays will go black and then come back. Sometimes it is only a couple times a day and other times it is several times an hour. We have done the following troublesheeting steps. The thinkcentre is running the most recent version of Windows 10

Replaced both monitors

Replaced both the power and video cords to  both monitors

M710q is a few years old now, did this problem start recently, perhaps after a Windows 10 feature release update?   Was the BIOS updated recently?  What video ports and cable are used on Tiny and monitor?  Both monitors are affected?

We recently upgraded her from an old Dell machine to the Lenovo Think Centere and it has been causing problems ever since the switch. We did not update the BIOS and we use a windows 10 image that we cloned off an exsisting M710q machine. The monitors are connected from the display ports on the machine to the mini display ports on the monitors. Both monitors are affected

Could be a fault with the system board.  You could swap the drive with another M710q to isolate further, but once you're at the system DisplayPort, you're at the system board.
