That's a good point. While the SFF and Tower use the same motherboard, the tower has a stronger power supply, and is capable of supporting 2 graphics cards, the SFF may not, it would largely depend on the power requirements of the specific Intel processor installed. A power calculation would need to be done.
A GT 1030 with 2GB DDR5 is only a couple of watts more than a GT 730 with 2GB of DDR5, so no worries about replacing an existing GT 730.

Hi, Could you confirm the video card you mentioned
also works for M720ssf?
It seems the size spec for this video card is H=14.7 L=149.9 W=68.9 https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/GV-N1030D5-2GL#kf
While the size requirement for M720s is length < 147mm, height < 68.9mm https://www.1000ordi.ch/lenovo-thinkcentre-m720s-sff-10st-0030-10st0030mz-109478_en.pdf
The card is 2mm overlength, not sure if that matters. Note that M720s slot requirement is a bit tighter than M710s (147mm vs 150mm)

Interesting, the overall case dimensions are the same between the two generations, so unless the internal structure is different (hinged section for the HDD and optical drive), it should accommodate the same card. I note that the height of the slot grew by 0.9 mm without the case height increasing on the M720s, and there is no internal structure to interfere with that.

Apologies for necroing this thread.
I have just bought the M720s SFF and was wondering if the Palit GTX 1650 would fit instead of the 1030? It seems to meet the size requirements?

My guess is that it will NOT. It looks like a full-size bracket at 99mm. Any SFF case requires a low-profile card.
The PSREF for the M720s SFF shows maximum height of 68.9mm, which accommodates a low-profile card. At 99mm your Palit card is not low-profile.
The PSREF also shows maximum length of 147mm, and this card is 145mm. That's awfully close to the absolute maximum length, and I'd at least be less than optimistic.
But I don't know for sure. If you do try it just be sure you can return it if it doesn't work out, which would be my guess for how the story will end.

Also, the GTX 1650 is a 75w card, versus 30w for the 1030. Even with the stronger of the 2 power supplies, 210w, depending on the config, there may not be sufficient power to reliably run it.
