M710s and TPM firmware update

2018-06-13, 19:36 PM

Windows reports my TPM is IFX v7.61.2785.0 with specification version 2.0, and indicates that "A firmware upgrade is needed for your security processor."

I've tried to update my TPM firmware without any luck. So far, I have:

 - turned off BitLocker

 - updated BIOS to most recent (M16KT50A)

 - run the TPM updater with the /2 switch (to upgrade to TPM 2.0); I do not have a BIOS password

The updater fails, saying "Error: Please update BIOS to the latest one".

Lenovo's support page for my ThinkCentre M710s (https://support.lenovo.com/ca/en/product_security/len-15552#Desktop) lists the TPM 2.0 BIOS as M16KT47A. Does that I mean have to downgrade to an *older* BIOS to run the TPM updater? Is the problem that I don't have a BIOS password?
