M720q Tiny: Compatible M.2 WiFi/Bluetooth Card

2019-11-08, 15:15 PM

Hi,

I have a M720Q tiny desktop. Originally it never came with wifi or bluetooth installed.

Narrowed down 2 intel wifi/BT cards but not sure of compatibility due to whitelist issues?

01AX769 AC 9260

01AX704 AC 8265

Any ideas which of these will work ? Ideally would prefer the AC9260 as it supports BT 5.0

Thank you

Ok I got hold of an AC 9260 off Amazon and it worked in the M720Q. Installed intel driver package and all working fine.

The AX200 looks new but I don't have an AX Wifi 6 router anyway.

AC 9260 may work, however AC 8265 is listed in the system specs, and was shown as the wireless option when I run the purchasing configurator today.

No 100% guarantee, but we have found that 01AX769 works for us.

Any AX200 card from eBay will work, FRU or no FRU. No point buying outdated 9260 or 8265 which cost the same.

It's been some time since your reply, but I'm buying this device, does it need an external antena to go with the card or just by popping it in it works?

You should attach the internal antenna to it anyway and you can also connect a dipole connector at the rear of the machine for the best performance

The card has 2 antenna connections, you can use one for an internal antenna and one for the external
