M73 SFF - crashes and restarts randomly

Product code is 10B60023AU

It's around 3 months old, Started crashing every now and then (no blue screen of death) just on one moment and off the next.

Crashes started to get a lot more frequent (like 4 times an hour - sometimes).

Isolation tests, different monitors etc (made no difference)

So - did complete software re-image. (made no difference)

It's fully up to date and checked with the solution centre (detailed tests - no faults found)

So - took it in for warranty service, diagnosed graphics card fault and replaced the motherboard. Great I think.

That was yesterday, this morning (same thing - 4 crashes in less than an hour)

So - unless I drag this all the way back into the city for another 3 day holiday does anyone have an ideas ? Any known issues with these machines ?

TIA

Re: M73 crashes randomly.

I personally have a M73 SFF, and it's been solid as a rock (other than a problem with the Lenovo-supplied graphics driver, fixed by installing the driver downloaded from Intel), I don't know of any other issues.

When you say it's " just on one moment and off the next."   Do you mean it powers off by itself?

More information would be helpful (please read the 'help us to help you' sticky thread.)

Re: M73 crashes randomly.

Yes, it will be working just fine and then it's off & restarting.

I've just forced the intel driver update - I amazed how out of date the Lenovo driver is, especially as the system update tool reports all is current !

Screenshot of system data attached.

Your system:   OS, BIOS, & processor is the same as mine.    I have 8 GB vs. your 16.

I'm a bit confused by the above diagnosis,  and why they replaced the motherboard?    Are you 100% sure the motherboard was replaced?

Re: M73 crashes randomly.

But do you have a graphics card?   You said you upgraded the Intel graphics driver.   I'm trying to understand what they found as a problem.

Re: M73 crashes randomly.

There is no separate card AFAIK. Anyway another crash and I'm over it - it's back to the service centre, not sure what else they can replace though ...

Re: M73 crashes randomly.

Since the motherboards been replaced, it's probably the power supply.

Re: M73 crashes randomly.

I'd tend to agree - not much else it can be !
