M73 Tiny: how to access BIOS with HDMI

I am trying to access the BIOS on the M73 tiny. It is running Windows 7. It is running factory installed OS. We have a lot of these to configure and cannot access the BIOS. There is NO POST screen. When pressing thre F1 key at power on results in the power light remains on, but nothing else happens. The VB script to LISTALL returns nothing. Even though we are running Windows 7, pressing the Shift key on Shutown does nothing either.

How can we get some help with this?

Thanks in advance for any help offered.

Mike

Re: M73 Tiny BIOS

Try pressing F12 while computer is starting. In the Start up Device Menu select Enter Setup.

Re: M73 Tiny BIOS

Pressing F12 or F1 seems to stall the boot process but nothing more.

Here is our setup...

HD Display on the HDMI port

USB keyboard/mouse.

Out of the box Windows 7 pro install

It boots to Windows 7 albeit slow.

When eith F12 or F1 is pressed during the power on, the display remains in the power-save mode and the computer power light is on, but no others. It waits there forever,

Looking at Lenovo BIOS Setup using Windows Management Instrumentation I coded the scripts as shown. There is no output; either the WMI components are not installed or not supported.

If no neys are pressed, no POST or anything until the Windows 7 screen appears.

I really need to set up the BIOS on these and cannot seem to get any response.

I've got 10 more on the way too.

Re: M73 Tiny BIOS

Here is a long shot. Plug your usb keyboard into the usb port that shows a picture of keyboard next to the usb port on the back of the computer. This port is used to do a soft boot using (ALT P), it almost seems your keyboard isn't being recognized during POST. Tomorrow I'll look at my BIOS version on our M73's. We have about 20 of them and booting to BIOS is ok. Maybe your BIOS is buggy but not sure though.

Re: M73 Tiny BIOS

If you have more of these computers on the way I assume the computers are new. Call Lenovo and open a case.

Re: M73 Tiny BIOS

Your not going to like my answer, I went into BIOS and got the information there. I wasn't thinking, you can't get into BIOS to see your version.

Re: M73 Tiny BIOS

1. HDMI display works only when Windows 7 has been load, that why you could not see Bios screen.
2. Change monitor display via VGA port you will see Bios screen.
