Hi Andreas2703!

Welcome to the Community,

The minimum system power that is required for GeForce GTX 1050ti is 300w, while the M83 Desktop power supply only has 280w,

http://psref.lenovo.com/syspool/Sys/PDF/ThinkCentre/ThinkCentre%20M83%20Tower/M83%20Tower.pdf

Therefore, the GeForce GTX 1050ti will not work.

Regards,

^ Very wrong ^

A GTX 1050 Ti will most certainly work.

I have a 710-25ISH IdeaCentre with a 250 watt FSP Group FSP250-30AGBAA and have been using an EVGA GTX 1050 Ti 04G-P4-6251-KR for over two years in it.

The 300 watt is if all system components were pinned at max load.

Edit: If you have not done so yet update the motherboard's BIOS to the latest FBKTD6A.

Hi all,

not wrong at all, actually very accurate. The machine might work, yes, but when you put it under extreme loads where all the components draw maximum power it might crash the machine and leave you with a faulty PSU or even worse. I know that only certain software can put your machine to such extremes, surely not games, but still wouldn't risk it. No warranty would cover such damage.

Best regards,

Just change the PSU to higher (ie 500W)
Fortunately this model still normal TFX power supply, hence no issue!
