M90z 32-bit re-imaged to 64-bit - want to provide key from new Lenovo media - no re-install

Hi Team,

We recently purchased an M90z 32bit Win7 device.  We re-imaged it with 64-bit win7 Pro, and now run XPMode on it.  After talking with Lenovo, they have very quickly supplied us with a fresh set of media so we could supply the new key.  We have put a lot of work into this installation and do not wish to re-install and start again.  The Lenovo fellow stated 'no that wont be required, simply put in the CD the key will automatically be updated, on the current installation.'

I am concerned that the supplied media will destroy the current installation.  This is bad.  There is no visible product key labelled on CDs.

My questions are:

What sequence of steps are required to provide this system with a valid key from the new genuine Lenovo CD, WITHOUT requiring a full reinstall of Win7.

Thanks people, I hope someone can assist.

Sterling.

I would post this question on a Windows message board.

They are around.  I think there is one on this board.

Or

There are a lot of Microsoft experts here.  This is an install board.
