Re: M92P 14pin power supply connector

Thanks BiggAl, I went ahead and picked up a 7750. Would have been nice to run a faster card but this seemed like the best compromise. Looked at the 7770 but after some power calculations it would be borderline. Plus the 7750 won't need an external power connection.

when you pick one with external power connection, how can u connect it?

Re: M92P 14pin power supply connector

Someone finally came out with an adapter. I have yet to get one or see how it works but here is the link. I would also like to say that I spoke with a company that is a partner with lenovo and the email transcript between them and Lenovos side was rediculous. They requested a list of Lenovo desktops that do not  have a 14 pin power supply and they pleaded ignerance the entire time.... They should really work on there support team and either educate them or give themaccess to this.

Re: M92P 14pin power supply connector

This adapter is precisely what I registered here to ask about.  I had bought a new power supply for my old computer a couple of years ago, and wanted to transfer it into my new Lenovo, and surprise, it won't work.  I may end up being the guinea pig here.

Really, Lenovo should tell people about this issue up front.

I have one of the adapters, but I have not tested it. There's no reason it should not work just fine.

It's been tested and works.    See this thread:

Excellent.  I ordered one, and now I feel better about using it.

No worries.  Please report back on how it worked, and details of the PSU you used.

Re: M92P 14pin power supply connector

The adapter came in the mail today.  Attached it to the bigger PSU, popped it in, everything worked great.

Edit:  The PSU was this one.  It's helping drive a PowerColor 7790 that I dropped in.
