M92p Tiny, i5/HD 2500: How to connect 3 monitors

2019-09-16, 21:47 PM

My LENOVO M92p Tiny with i5-3470T & HD 2500 graphics, 3237A1U Thinkcenter  has one display port and one VGA. I have a DP adapter connected with HDMI,VGA and DVI outputs however PC will only recognize one option from the adapter. I have chosen the HDMI.

My second monitor is connected via VGA.

I am trying to connect a third monitor. I tried a USB/VGA adapter and I can see that my PC recognizes the third monitor but the display is completely pixilated not visible.

My questions are ...

1. Is my LENOVO 3237A1U equipped to connect 3 individual  monitors?

2. If I buy a docking station , will that add what is required to add the third monitor, if YES what docking station should I buy?

Mod:  edit Subject line and text to add system model, and graphics model

You are the second person in a month to inquire about docking stations for ThinkCentres, can you link to where you are seeing dock stations for these systems.  Ty.

I have been searching and all threads about docking stations only seem to refer to Thinkpads. I live overseas and do not have the luxury of returning something in a timely manner if it doesnt work, otherwise I would buy the one recommended for Thinkpad and try it.
I was hoping someone would be able to point me in the right direction.

ThinkPad docking stations do not work with ThinkCentres, I was concerned that there is mis-information saying that they do.

This Tiny system, however, does support 3 monitors and 3 independent displays (see the specs below.)  A second optional DisplayPort (DP) can be added to the rear of your system (via a "knock-out") for a total of 3 video ports; or if 2 of your monitors have DP ports, you can connect them to the one DP port already on your system via a DP hub, or if the monitors support "daisy-chaining", you can daisy-chain them from the one DP existing port.

Update:  More information here:  M92p Tiny: 3 three monitors (independent displays, optional 3rd video port, 2121-A4U)
