My 8143-28U is running Windows XP. There are two matching 1GB sticks of Crucial memory installed. When I shutdown the computer, I get the following blue screen error:
*** Hardware malfunction Call your hardware vendor for support NMI: Parity Check / Memory Parity Error *** The system has halted ***
The computer does not exhibit any other issues when running. The memory is relatively new, and it passes POST and memtest86 with no issues.
This problem first occured when I had a third stick 1GB of memory that was not the same as the two Crucial sticks. When I removed the mismatched stick, the problem went away.
Where do I look for a solution?
