Problems booting from RAID controller

I am trying to use a Rosewill PC-216 PCI express RAID adapter instead of the onboard SATA on an IBM ThinkCentre MT-M 8144-KU1. I need to setup a RAID-1 with a pair of terabyte drives and Windows Server 2003. I have disabled onboard SATA and PATA and eventually (after 15-20 minutes the CD will boot when connected to the RAID controller - same problem if connected to motherboard and PATA and/or SATA enabled). I tell Windows to install the RAID drivers, create 100GB partition and format. The install seems to proceed but computer will not boot from RAID drive - I do have it included in startup in BIOS).

I read something about disabling HPET being needed but I can't find anything about HPET in the BIOS though I have tried the Hyper Threading switch in the BIOS.

Any help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated.
