I am wanting to record an audio stream with my M90z, but I do not see any devices to record from.
I have done the following:
1) Updated to the latest driver level (8m07ac36g07) -- and rebooted
2) Under recording devices checked Show Disabled Devices, and Show Disconnected devices
All I see are Microphones.
Any help would be appreciated.

I believe there is third party software that will do it.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I already have Audacity (that is what I want to use),
the problem is routing the audio from the internet to Audacity.
Other posts say I need to enable the Stereo Mix, but that option is not available (I have "Show Disabled Devices" checked)
Does anyone know how to get the "Stereo Mix" back?

I found the answer:
It is working as designed
Looks like I need to get another audio program, since this functionality has been moved up to the application level from the driver level.

I want to record a radio programme on my X220 using Audacity or Easy-Hi-Q but am unable to do so.
Audacity claims "Be aware that on some machines, the "Stereo Mix" option will never work because it is disabled internally by the driver settings due to copyright concerns. This is a known issue with Lenovo Thinkpad laptops".
There is no copyright issue with what I wish to record, I am being interviewed,
I am unhappy that Lenovo decides to limit the capabilities of my computer because it does not trust me to use it ethically. When I buy a hi-spec computer I expect it to have the capability to carry out basic functions. Limitations such as this should be brought to the buyer's attention before the purchase is made
